"Kung Fu"

Convention Notice! I'll be attending GeneriCon for sure in late January! I'm trying to obtain official Guest status and sit on a webcomics panel; I'll keep you posted as details are revealed. I'm also tentatively planning on hitting the Big Apple Anime Fest this October. Again, keep your eyes peeled to this page. :)

First off, big shouts out to Japanese Snacks. Evidently, Mr. Pocky garnered some extra attention from a few employees of that company, and I had directed some traffic over there before. I was contacted by a representative of the company earlier this week and was told that a care package full of Pocky would be mailed to me sometime soon. Never let it be said that doing an online comic doesn't have some fringe benefits. Basically, I just wanted to thank the company for their kindness, and I'm sure they're enjoying all the attention. ;)

I've persuaded Matt and Andy to take a Wing Chun course with me (hence today's comic). I'll let you know how that goes. I'm desperately out of shape, so this is a last-ditch attempt to get some exercise and be disciplined about it. Since I lack the necessary will to keep myself motivated, I figure I'll regiment my exercise time by attending a class.

In gaming news, I buckled and joined Andy in the ranks of Omni-Tek employees. AO looks and sounds fantastic, but I've been experiencing a few compatibility issues that have been hampering my gameplay experience; however, the game is so well-done that I'm willing to weather a few bugs until they're hammered out. If I had known AO was such a sweet set-up, I would've dropped out of EverQuest sooner. Also, say what you will about M$, but I have to step up and defend their customer service. My Mech Commander 2 CD was one of the defective ones you may have heard about which was giving problems with authentication, so naturally I called up Microsoft in an attempt to have it replaced. I never had to wait a single moment, and I called during peak hours of the day. Both people I talked to were quite friendly and eminently competent. I simply stated my problem, and they fixed it within half an hour by mailing off a new CD. Microsoft may not treat its rivals very well, but they sure do know how to handle customers. Maybe I've just had too many poor experiences with other support staff, but I still think the industry should look to MS to show the way here.

I'm currently embroiled in Street Fighter fascination all over again. I find myself watching the Street Fighter V series (borrowed from Tom) on DVD and playing Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Capcom vs. SNK, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the Dreamcast. Don't ask me why. Maybe going retro-SF will one day be considered cool ... or maybe not.

Don't forget to check back for new comics this Saturday and Sunday. They'll be Framed!!!-alicious!

Well, kick me in the Blarney Stone and call me a BBoCS Forum.
