If it were only so easy to convince people of the truth of their stupidity with my fists as in today's comic. I'd probably walk around with bloody knuckles all the time because there are a lot of stupid people in the world who need a good pounding.
I've recently decided to ignore the opinions of people who've never had sex before, to use a fairly arbitrary criterion. If you've never gotten laid, then you haven't experienced enough of life yet to tell me something worth listening to. Obviously this means I'm discounting some fairly good bits along with the chaff but I've become really cynical and short-tempered these past few days, moreso than usual, anyway.
Looking through such public forums from sundry sites such as Penny Arcade, MegaTokyo, Shack News, and Lum the Mad, not to mention my own, has made me bitterly disappointed in human nature. There's been so much bashing of Arab-Americans by Americans, bashing of Americans by non-Americans, and so forth over the past few days that it makes me sick to my stomach. I've basically decided to hang out with the few people who meet my extremely strict standards as friends and shut out the rest of the crowd. If you feel like I'm ignoring you somehow, then I probably am. That doesn't mean you're a bad person, it may just mean I don't know enough about you to consider you a "friend." I've gone through too much shit this past week to care much about others' feelings, at least those outside my inner circle of friends. The problem with giving someone a forum on which he can voice his opinion is that he will do so, and there's no guarantee as to the quality of the character of that person or how lucid or compassionate his words may be (and yes, I'm aware of the irony inherent in such a statement). Anyways, to summarize: I'm going to scale back and retreat even more than I already have. I currently have enough grief to deal with without having more added to it by people whose opinions I could care less about, especially a few idiots on IRC and in the webcomic world. (Hint: If your comic is unpopular, then there's probably a reason for it.) If these words strike you as being unnecessarily harsh, I have but one thing to say: I have yet begun to fight.
Give someone in the BBoCS Forum a Shin Shoryuken to clear his senses.
